The Evolution of Return-to-Zero Mounts

Why Tier One Mounts Are Different

For decades, shooters have relied on traditional Return-to-Zero (RTZ) mounts to remove and reinstall optics while maintaining accuracy.

These mounts work — but they rely on friction and clamping force to approximate the same position each time.

At Tier One Mounts, we engineered a better way.

Our system uses precision mechanical indexing to create a repeatable, controlled interface between the mount and the rail — eliminating the guesswork found in traditional RTZ designs.

The result:
A mount that returns to the exact same position every time.

Because when zero matters most, approximation isn't good enough.

Precision Machined for Repeatability

Every Tier One mount is CNC machined with tight tolerances and carefully engineered geometry.

Critical surfaces are designed to maintain alignment and consistency through repeated installation and removal.

The goal is simple:

Deliver a mounting system built for long-term precision.

Mechanical Location Before Clamping

Most mounts on the market rely primarily on clamping pressure against the rail.

When an optic is removed and reinstalled:

• The mount may clamp slightly forward
• It may clamp slightly rearward
• Tension settings can vary

Even small shifts can change point of impact.

Traditional mounts work by squeezing the rail and hoping it lands in the same spot.

For many applications that’s acceptable.

But precision shooters demand more.

The Tier One Solution

Tier One Mounts were designed from the ground up around a different principle:

Mechanical location before clamping.

Instead of relying on friction alone, the Tier One system:

• Precisely locates the mount on the rail
• Locks into a controlled interface
• Eliminates variation from clamping force

This means every time the mount is installed, it returns to the same physical location.

Not approximately.

Exactly.

Why That Matters

A truly repeatable mounting interface allows shooters to:

• Remove optics for transport or maintenance
• Swap accessories without losing zero
• Maintain consistent point of impact

Whether you're a precision shooter, hunter, or professional user, repeatability matters.

Machined with Precision

Tier One mounts are designed and machined using precision manufacturing processes.

Every component is produced with strict attention to detail to ensure performance, reliability, and durability.

Precision You Can See

A mount that returns to the same location means your optic maintains alignment with the rifle.

The result is consistent point of impact and confidence behind every shot.

When Zero Matters Most

Tier One Mounts are engineered for shooters who demand more than “close enough.”

They are built for precision, durability, and absolute repeatability.

Because when the shot matters…

Your zero should never be a question.
